If Lloyd were to become a new fighter in future Super Smash Bros game, then the other Tales of Symphonia series characters in my opinion that should be the new fighters are: *Zelos (Despite being an another swordfighter, I still see him being entertaining to play as) *Colette (A female fighter using chakrams as weapons should be a great addition to Smash! As well having a major role in the original game) *Kratos (Yet another swordfighter, but whatever. I see him entertaining enough to play as, as well having a big role in the original game, and being related to Lloyd) *Sheena (A ninja using cards in a battle would be an excellent addition to the game. As well being a female.) *Martha (dawn of the new world. Reason: As a representative of that sequel, even though it was a big disappointment)

Masterful work =03. Liked the intuitiveness of some of your approaches, like using artes to dodge the web and jumping over Stingle's arte(most people wouldn't think of jumping in this game =0b). I know Legendia is generally pretty low as far as Tales battle systems go, but I still see the level of understanding of both the character and what the boss does that makes the combat look smooth(for Legendia anyways). The Dragon got wrecked, haha. Bigger monsters get the short end of the stick in this game. Was the Grand Gaet's Hammer of the Overlord a magical based attack? Curious why you used Magic Guard there.

I always enjoy seeing QQ gameplay. Her aesthetic and design is just so good. Maneuverability is amazing too. Kinda disappointed in how easy Chitose is. I mean, I thought this before, but seeing it for the 4th time, she just pales in comparison to her original counterpart. Can't stand to see it actually =0v.

I always wanted to play her but my game is Japanese text. Hope someone would have translated it

Question, how did you turn off the bgm? Can this be done with an emulator? I use Desmume. I tried looking into the game's setting, but the sound mode only lets me choose between stereo and surround, I can't mute the bgm. I wanted to record the voiced lines of each character, but the music gets in the way.

This is a PS2 game from almost 20 years ago. Better than non-3D games released on Switch and PS5.

A pretty fun watch =03. I enjoyed seeing you overcome the limitations of the character, in particular to opening up the boss. Gardel was my favorite. Funny how you kept missing Chitose because of the Naruto run 🤣. The ending to Hasta II was pretty cool; love Shunjinsou kills when its animation is right(my fav Leia arte). Did you expect to kill him before he hit you, or was you just going in on 'em? Dunno if it matters, but the video is not 60fps for me(can't tell the difference that much with my old tv anyway (>.>) ).

Ricardo does not have much going for him. He is a character that relies heavily on OVL to extend combos, but many of his artes are not effective. The BnBs I use throughout the video are Ricardo's best and most consistent artes. One point to mention is Gatling Evil. Outside of OVL, this arte only connects after an Impact Shot in the corner. You'll see me use this frequently, followed by Flare Bomb. This combo reset helps Ricardo extend combos as necessary until hit-stun degrades. I prefer to have the "Aggravate" skill on to trigger bosses to rage counter more often. Successfully countering resets your ability to step cancel, which is immensely helpful as my objective is to push the enemy to the corner. Beyond that, Ricardo lacks the "Destroy" skill, making it difficult to break Iron Stance compared to other characters. Shorter opponents like Chitose and Sian are incredibly annoying due to their small size and posture. For Ricardo, I find myself already leaning into late Arc 2 and Arc 3 OVL strategies. Either way, I still had a good bit of fun recording this.

The boss does one basic attack which misses and then gets hit by an 80 hit combo into mystic arte. You might forget which one is actually the boss here.

I came into this video hoping it would be something that'd give me a better basic understanding of the combat to make things easier, and left it having flashbacks to when I used to try to learn fighting games.... I think ToV maybe is just not the JRPG for me, I was already annoyed by the lack of being able to just save anywhere (as a PC player this is a hard thing to get used to), but the combat just seems like more of a hassle than I want to deal with. (I know I don't NEED to do the stuff here, but with the basic combat I was having issues getting combos in without getting interrupted by another enemy, so this seems like it might be more needed than I'd like)

I'm really curious what tales game do you think has the most depth or which one has your favorite combat system? For me its graces f but pretty much every game(besides Arise) has a uniqueness to combat that makes it pretty hard to say which game is definitively the best or most nuanced.
